Car sales slowed in February in France, according to the latest figures published by the CCFA (Committee of French Automobile Manufacturers). More than 160,000 registrations were registered in France last month.
An increase of 3.2% at the beginning of the year but.
In February alone, 161,886 new vehicles were sold in February, a decline of 2.9%. Despite this slowdown, the trend remains positive over the first 2 months of the year with + 3.2% (314 932 units) although the CCFA nuances these results, for 2 reasons:
the month of January 2017 had an extra business day compared to last year in the corresponding period;
this remains a growth rate lower than that recorded over the whole of 2016 (+ 5.1%).
Renault and PSA sales
In the 2 French heavyweights (Renault and PSA), the month of February will not have been pink. Especially for PSA (-7.4%) whose 3 brands have all fallen. Its diamond competitor recorded a slower drop (-3.8%) and even saw one of its brands grow by 5.8%.
